Phillip Hughes was an Australian cricketer who played as a left-handed opening batsman for the Australian team in Tests and ODIs. He made his test debut in 2009 at the age of 20 and his ODI debut in 2013. Hughes achieved his first Test century in March 2009, at the age of 20, in Australia’s second Test match against South Africa, opening the batting and scoring 115 in the first innings. Hughes received a terrible hit to the head after being struck by a Sean Abbott bouncer during a Sheffield Shield game. After fainting face-first, he was brought to the hospital.
